Criteria for Consideration

​

  1. Must have been granted a non-immigrant visa (NON-IM).

  2. Must be 50 years of age or over.

  3. Must have evidence of having income of no less than Baht 65,000 per month; or

  4. At least 2 months prior to the filing date and at least 3 month after being granted permission,
    an alien must have a deposit in a commercial bank located in Thailand of no less than 800,000 baht.
    After being granted permission for 3 month, an alien can withdraw the said deposit and must have
    the remaining balance in the bank account of no less than 400,000 baht or

  5. Must have an annual earning and a deposit in a commercial bank located in Thailand with totaling of no less than 800,000 baht
    as of the filing date. The said deposit must remain in the bank account prior to and after the permission
    is granted and the withdrawal can be made under the same condition in the Criterion (4.)

  6. Only for an alien, who hass been grant Non-immigration Visa Class O-A, must have health insurance.
    or government welfare from foreign countries that have a protection limit medical expenses
    and has insurance that covers the treatment of viral infections Corona 2019 (COVID-19) not less than $100,000
    or 3,000,000 baht, covered throughout the period of stay in kingdom
    6.1 In the case of purchasing Thai health insurance, purchase a policy online via website longstay.tgia.org
    6.2 In the case of purchasing foreign health insurance or having government welfare from abroad,
    it must be certified by a foreign embassy in Thailand. or certifying the signature of the authorized signatory
    on the documents presented (Notary) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant.
    6.3 In the event that the insurance company refuses to purchase all or part of the health insurance

    before applying for at least 2 months or have a deposit in a commercial bank account located in Thailand

  7. An alien entering the Kingdom before October 21, 1998 and has been consecutively permitted to stay in the Kingdom
    for retirement shall be subject to the following criteria :
    (a) Must be 60 years of age or over and have an annual fixed income with a deposit maintained in a bank account
    for the past three months of no less than 200,000 baht or have a monthly income of no less than 20,000 baht.
    (b) If less than 60 years of age but not less than 55 years of age, an alien must have an annual fixed income
    with a deposit maintained in a bank account for the past three months of no less than 500,000 baht
    or have a monthly income of no less than 50,000 baht.

 

Documents to be submitted

  1. Application form

  2. Copy of applicant’s passport

  3. Evidence of income such as a retirement pension, interest or dividends and/or

  4. Fund deposit certificate issued by a commercial bank located in Thailand and a copy of bank account

  5. Only in the case of Criterion (6.)
    5.1 In the case of purchasing Thai health insurance, evidence showing insurance in the form approved
    by the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), which can be checked through the website longstay.tgia.org
    5.2 In the case of purchasing health insurance abroad or have government welfare from abroad
    Documents certified by foreign embassies in Thailand are required. or a letter certifying the signature of the authorized person
    Authorized signing documents (Notary) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the applicant in the form prescribed
    by the Ministry of Public Health.
    5.3 In the event that the insurance company refuses to purchase all or part of the health insurance :
    5.3.1  If purchasing health insurance in Thailand, there must be a letter of refusal to purchase insurance
    certified by that insurance company.
    5.3.2 If purchasing health insurance from abroad, a certificate of signature of the authorized signatory is required
    from the applicant’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. according to the form prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health.

  6. In case of Criterion (7), the applicant must submit the documents same as the list no.1-4 mentioned above.
